It has now been two weeks since I started working at Dun & Bradstreet.
Just like any other person, I had the excitement and curiosity for my first day. My mind was filled with questions around the people and relationships with other teammates. After all, being surrounded by good and happy people is way more important than anything else.
As soon as I walk into the beautiful Austin office located at 7700 W Parmer Lane, I had our facility planner Michael Abernathy expecting me. He takes a picture of me on his iPhone and hands me over my D&B badge in almost no time and we are ready to move on. He brings me to one of the conference rooms where I was accompanied by about five other new hires. Gracie Vela, the ATX site coordinator, helps us all go through the processes of having us our laptops assigned, filling out government forms, updating Workday profiles, and learning about the benefits D&B offered.
Next, I had my Manager, Tim Denney who works from the SF office waiting for me. I’ve no words to express how great it felt having to know that my manager, flew all the way from SF to Austin to be with me for my first week and to make sure I had everything I needed and I was comfortable. I had lunch with him and Satya (my team-mate and another new hire who just joined a few weeks ago) and we had a great lunch-conversation.
When it’s your first day, time usually flies by. I had a wonderful day, met wonderful people, and felt excited about the wonderful challenges for the new job.
